Visited Jules in Sastamala. (I'm wearing her Soviet Union hat she got on Russia tour)
Her host family owns the bakery across the street and told us "go and take whatever you want and put it on our tab" so THANKS
Making dinner with 5 nationalities is always an experience

So my littlest host sister woke me up to go around the house and search for chocolate eggs. Then we went outside and followed a map to a bag of chocolate (seriously so much chocolate).
Then I got to try mämmi. It's a sort rye and molasses based dessert. Most of my exchange friends said it was disgusting but I didn't mind it (I probably wouldn't eat it again though)
April 11-12
We had a massive district conference in Pori to celebrate the 110th anniversary of rotary. We stayed at the same place we did back in October for our IB camp. It was great.

That building in the background is a university in Pori (and also the mall is behind that)

So serious
April 25
We had a district meeting in Ruissalo which is where our first one was in October. We went to sauna, swam, ate sausage. Typical Finnish things.

VAPPU! Vappu is sort of like the Finnish version of Labor Day except it's more focused on college students. There a huge celebrations in the cities and everyone wears their graduation hats.
I might have explained this before but university students in Finland all have this kind of overalls and they are different colors depending on the university. They wear them to all kinds of student events and collect patches to sew on them.
Then on the first of May (May Day) there was a kind of parade and everyone had picnics in the city centre next to the canal.
Also just wanted to throw in this photo of my donuts I made for the family ;)
